Somersville Towne Center is proud to be a community partner. We strive to meet community challenges through a combination of employee volunteerism, financial support, in-kind donations and partnerships with non-profit organizations which have missions consistent with our vision and values.

Community Partnerships

Macerich Volunteer Program (MVP)
A number of our employees enjoy volunteering with different groups around the east county area.  Some of these groups include Junior Achievement, Options for Women, Relay for Life, Make a Wish Foundation and Elderly Make a Wish Foundation. 

Toys for Tots
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation provides happiness and hope to disadvantaged children who might otherwise be overlooked during the holiday season.  Somersville Towne Center sets up barrels in the mall to collect new toys to help the Marines with this worthy cause.

Salvation Army Angel Tree
The Salvation Army faithfully works to make sure disadvantaged kids receive gifts during the holiday season.  The Angel Tree is set up in Somersville Towne Center every year.  You can just stop by, pick an angel off the tree, buy the gift and return it to the volunteers. 

Hospice Tree of Lights
Hospice of Contra Costa and Somersville Towne Center join together every holiday season to help families honor and remember loved ones they may have lost during the year.  This is done through the annual lighting of the Hospice Tree of Lights which features the names of their loved ones.

Gift Wrapping Services
Somersville Towne Center invites non-profit organizations to volunteer during the holiday season to wrap gifts.  This is a complimentary service, but organizations will gladly accept donations. 

Club Tread
In an effort to promote good health, Somersville Towne Center offers Club Tread.  Club Tread is a mall walking program that is free and open to the public.  Members are welcome to walk inside Somersville Towne Center starting at 7 a.m. every day.  Stop by the Guest Services booth for more information and a registration form. 

Each year, Somersville Towne Center will contribute a preset amount of funds in the form of Gift Cards, merchandise and use of property to a diverse group of organizations. Hundreds of requests are anticipated each year. Donation recipients may include civil organizations' education programs; food banks; foundations; hospitals and healthcare organizations; youth programs; performing arts and museums and many more. Each request is reviewed carefully, however, not all requests can be granted.
